Dusk is inspired by the a sense of warmth and inner peace. Several viewers proclaimed that the piece pulls them in when they look at it long enough, and transcends the imagination to a place that cannot be explained - somewhat like senerity. This was a frightening piece for me to paint because I felt that I was within myself and without myself at times - somewhat of a surreal experience, but a conclusive sense of calm.
